For over 100 years, The Salvation Army has recognized the restorative power of nature. Camping frees youthful imaginations trapped in the concrete, noise, and pollution of our inner-cities. It restores peace of body and mind to weary parents, and creates undistracted time in which families can bond. Camping also gives elderly men and women a unique way to rediscover pride and independence.
For these reasons, The Salvation Army operates summer and day camps that served 168,751 last year. To reconnect people with nature, temporarily separate them from the circumstances contributing to their strife, and empower them to move forward recognizing hope and opportunity in their lives, The Salvation Army operates 10 camps in the Western US.

The Salvation Army has a camp in nearly every state in the nation. Click on a shield on map below for the location near you!
